nourish21 – focused on healing the body and mind.

nourish21 is a 21 day programme that involves the removal of food and drink which has an inflammatory effect on our body.

The programme does  not contain any animal products, alcohol, refined flour or sugar or highly processed foods, oil free.

nourish21 emphasises plant based whole foods e.g. Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, pulses, nuts and seeds. The diet is high in dietary fibre, with only plant-based proteins and fats. Highly nutrient dense foods will be unlimited to allow for an increase in fibre and nutrients. A full list of “free” foods is included in the plan.

Three M’s are a focus of the programme, these are Mindset, Movement and Mindful eating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why do you suggest we do not weigh ourselves?

As we describe at the beginning – measuring waist is the best indicator … and taking images

Scales are not always an issue, however from experience the number on the scales can be very destructive to our mindset.

Water, muscle and fat mass all fluctuate, and on any given day you may be holding more water and weigh more but have actually experienced fat loss without knowing it. Also, we have found scales to really mess with our self-esteem, the number carries a different significance depending on our past experiences and we prefer to be free from the number and focus on how we feel and how our clothes fit.

However, if you choose to weigh yourself before you begin the reset, please do not weigh again until the end of 3 weeks, and if you are going to weigh, I would advise monthly. 

Q. But I am used to eating high fat, low carb, will I be able to do this?

A. Yes, you will, many of us have followed the low carb route, as we know it is a successful way to lose weight (there are many!)

However, the nourish21 programme is focused on healthy for life, a boosted immunity, cognitive health and chronic inflammation/disease prevention. And so, if you are looking for something you can follow for life and will help you feel good and learn great habits for life, this programme is for you.

Q. Can I do the programme if I am pregnant?

 A. As with any programme we would always firstly recommend checking with a medical profession. However, the programme is a safe healthy wholefood plant based way of living, with pregnant ladies. We advise to add on 2-3 generous snacks a day if hungry, and to make sure you are consuming enough iodine, folate, vitamin B12 and omega 3 – a pregnancy multivitamin would be recommended for example Naturello or another suitable product.
